Keeping the faith during tough times

How do you nurture growing children during a shrinking economy? Right now, this is the central question of Elyse Beckman’s* life. She and her husband Rob* are struggling to keep one step ahead, but their bills are gaining on them. As the summer approached, the tuition for their children’s favorite camp, the Union for Reform Judaism Joseph Eisner Camp in Great Barrington, at first seemed heartbreakingly out of reach.

Powering up a new form of activism

Ever dream of filling your tank with liquid algae? What about driving silently into the sunset after charging your batteries at a rapid recharge station? These dreams could easily become reality thanks to innovations in Israel. Its universities and entrepreneurial start-ups are providing important breakthroughs in solar and wind power, in biofuels and in water technologies. Forging a Boston-Israel clean tech connection is an important part of CJP’s Israel Advocacy Program.

Working to Unravel Autism’s Grip
 
A vibrant little girl with what her mom calls “a crazy head of curls,” Evie* is in her final year of preschool. Diagnosed with autism, she participates in adapted aquatics and “Play at the J” at the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston (JCCGB).

CJP supports the work of The Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston (JCCGB) and their award-winning Department of Special Needs Services. Evie’s story is just one example of the impact of donor support.
